Athletics vs. Mariners Highlights | MLB on FOX
Seattle's offense was too potent
Athletics starting pitcher Paul Blackburn only lasted three innings Tuesday night as he surrendered six runs on seven hits, including two home runs, to the first 12 batters he faced. Oakland would eventually go on to lose 10-4.
After Blackburn's short start, the Athletics bullpen was unable to keep the Mariners from adding to their early lead. Four relievers combined to allow four more runs over the final six innings.
Oakland's bats stayed silent
A's batters were unable to provide much support for Blackburn or the bullpen as they managed just four hits and one walk against Seattle's pitching staff. Elvis Andrus drove in a pair of runs on a double in the fifth inning to cut the Mariners' lead to 6-2, but that would be as close as Oakland would come the rest of the game.
Mariners extend their winning streak
With the win, the Mariners have now won four straight games and improved to 13-12 on the season. The Athletics, on the other hand, have lost four of their last five games and now sit at 10-14.
