Liverpool hero shares 'big rumor' he's heard about Trent Alexander-Arnold's future
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes Trent Alexander-Arnold could leave the club in the future if they fail to win major trophies.
Alexander-Arnold has been one of Liverpool's best players in recent seasons, helping them win the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup.
However, the Reds have struggled for form this season and are currently ninth in the Premier League table.
Murphy believes that if Liverpool continue to struggle, Alexander-Arnold could be tempted to leave in search of success elsewhere.
"I think if Liverpool don't win a trophy this season, there's a big rumor that Trent Alexander-Arnold could leave the club," Murphy told talkSPORT.
"He's a fantastic player, one of the best full-backs in the world, but he's at a stage of his career where he wants to win trophies."
"If Liverpool are not challenging for the biggest trophies, I think he might look elsewhere."
Alexander-Arnold is contracted to Liverpool until 2025, but there has been speculation that he could leave the club if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
The Reds are currently ninth in the Premier League table, seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
If Liverpool fail to finish in the top four, they will miss out on the Champions League for the first time since 2016.
Alexander-Arnold is one of the most valuable players in the Liverpool squad, and his departure would be a major blow to the club.
However, if Liverpool continue to struggle, it is possible that Alexander-Arnold could leave in search of success elsewhere.
