Perdue Foods LLC, based in Perry, Georgia, has issued a voluntary recall for over 167,000 pounds of frozen chicken products due to the possible presence of metal. The recall affects various products, including frozen ready-to-eat chicken nuggets and tenders, gluten-free chicken nuggets, and tenders.

The potentially contaminated products were produced between July 12, 2023, and July 25, 2023, and have been distributed nationwide. Perdue has provided a detailed list of the affected products, including the brand name, product description, package size, and production codes, on its website.

Consumers who have purchased the affected products are urged to check their freezers and return the products to the store of purchase for a full refund. They should not consume the products due to the potential risk of injury from metal fragments.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert regarding the recall. FSIS is urging consumers to check their freezers for the affected products and to report any adverse reactions to the agency.

Perdue Foods is cooperating with FSIS in the investigation and is taking steps to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
