Another Season Ends In Heartbreak For New York

Rangers Eliminated from Playoffs, Fall to Panthers 2-1

Another Season Ends in Heartbreak for New York

The New York Rangers' season came to an end on Thursday night with a 2-1 loss to the Florida Panthers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final. The Panthers, who eliminated the Rangers in the second round of the playoffs last year, will advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the second consecutive year, and third time in franchise history.

Final Score: Panthers 2, Rangers 1

The Rangers were looking to avoid a sweep in Game 5, but they were unable to generate much offense against the Panthers' stingy defense.

The Panthers took an early lead in the first period when Sam Reinhart scored a power-play goal. The Rangers tied the game in the second period on a goal by Chris Kreider, but the Panthers regained the lead in the third period on a goal by Aleksander Barkov.

The Rangers pulled their goalie with two minutes remaining in the game, but they were unable to score the tying goal.

The loss is a disappointing end to a season that saw the Rangers win the Presidents' Trophy for the first time in franchise history.

The Panthers will face the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final, which begins on Saturday night.
