How to Clean a Textile Motorcycle Jacket
Check the Tag
Ensure the jacket is machine washable. Hand washing your gear is the safest option, but a front-loading washing machine on gentle will work for most textile jackets.
Do Up the Zippers and Straps
Make sure to do up the main zip, pockets, and any vents or adjustment straps before washing.
Remove the Lining and Armour
Regardless of how you are washing your clothing, you first need to remove the thermal lining. Remove any armour, buckles, and inner linings before washing.
Use the Gentle Cycle
It's as simple as popping your gear in the washing machine and adding detergent. Textile gear can soak up and hold on to detergent with remarkable tenacity, so if you machine washed your gear, run it on a second rinse cycle.
Air Dry
Instead of using the dryer, hang your windbreaker or lay it flat to air dry. You can use a fabric steamer to remove any wrinkles or creases.
